Me:  Clearly it is only ever a female issue. Clearly you bought a pair of Hulk fists from a toy store for some “superior and manly” purpose that is “firmly rooted in reality”

Him:   I bought the hulk hands because I really like the character of the hulk. I don’t model myself after him. I just think he’s neat. I’m not pushing an agenda, I just like the movie. You however are claiming sailor moon is some kind of super woman and are taking out of the shows context, therefore I’m stating how ludicrous that is.

Me:  I never claimed to be modelling myself after Sailor Moon. I watched the show as a kid and took it (like everything else in life) with a grain of salt. I liked her and the other characters and their personalities in the show for various reasons. Apparently “pushing an agenda” is calling bullshit on how apparently it’s ok for the Hulk to be running around in only a pair or ripped shorts and still be a badass but Sailor Moon gets slammed for wearing a full top, gloves, boots and a skirt, simply because she is a girl. Sailor Moon is called “weak” because she portrays society described “feminine qualities.” It’s apparently ok for girls to like male superheros but it’s not ok for a guy to like Sailor Moon because that makes him “weak” and “girly” or “gay”, and GOD FUCKING FORBID a guy get compared to a girl. I posted this because I’m tired of being told girls can’t be feminine or “girly” and be taken seriously. I’m tired of being told female superheros have to be devoid of any feminine/”girly” quality, eye candy for men or GTFO.

Just because you posted an image and got some likes is not gonna save the world, Mel, otherwise we would have cured cancer 5 billion likes ago. You’re looking for attention, and I’m giving it to you. Just because it isn’t what you wanted is not my fault.

I don’t know where you’re getting half your points for your argument. It is perfectly fine for a male character to act “feminine”, but to what end? Who is your target market for that? I hate to tell you, but superheroes are products produced for the mass market. A feminine male hero could exist if there were people to buy into it, but who would? Gay men? Why? Because all gays are feminine and girly?
Girls would? Why would girls want a feminine male character for? Who are you selling to?

I mean, the Green Lantern just came out in the DC comics, but that’s not your beef. Do you want a male character who dresses as a female, or acts like a female? Then you want a transsexual. What you’re looking for is not mainstream and most likely exists. What you’re asking for makes absolutely *no* sense.

Do you mean the opposite, are you just looking for strong female superheroes that AREN’T eye candy and are strong and independent? Because you’re talking about an industry where the target audience is pubescent teenage boys. There’s a reason why Powergirl is 90% tits and Starfire wheres a bikini as her costume. It’s what the market wants.

Is this a woman’s rights thing, to be able to run around in public with their tops off just as men? I’m fine with it, but you’re going to be ogled and get a lot of bad attention. There are a lot of creeps out there. You know why breasts are such a social stigma for girls? Because they are a sexual organ. The human brain identifies them as such, male and female. There’s no way for me to say this without sounding chauvinistic so I’m not gonna really try to dance around it. Men want your tits. We are programmed to. There are exceptions. There’s 7 or 8 billion people so there are gonna be exceptions. Evolutionary men are made to want breasts. There are tons of studies into why. The most common belief is that they look like asses, which gets us just as riled up. It’s genetics. Most men can control their instincts, but some cannot. It is a danger and you need to be aware of it. We are barely out of the fucking jungle here. You and I are not gonna see the day where we an walk around naked and rape will be 0% and everyone will be fucking happy and you’re ignorant if you think so. You need to be aware of, I just can’t mention this enough, how BARELY OUT OF THE FUCKING JUNGLE WE ARE.

Don’t even get me started on the fact that females are just physically weaker then males and GOD FORBID we portray them as such. That is a fact. Deal with it right now. Like I said, there are always exceptions. 

I don’t even know where I’m going with this anymore, the argument I’m responding to is just so fucking botched I can’t really get a proper thought out.

Men are strong; they are portrayed as such.
Females are weak; they are portrayed as such.
Males != weak therefore they are not portrayed as such. IS THIS YOU’RE FUCKING POINT BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW.

But I believe that everyone is equal because it just fucking makes sense, but you take the opinion of some old age shitheads and you think that EVERY FUCKING PERSON MUST THINK LIKE THAT HURR DURR OH THE FEMALE CONDITION IS SO TERRIBLE SOB.
